Colin Kroll, founder of popular app HQ Trivia and video sharing service Vine, has been found dead at his home in New York. He was 35 years old.
Kroll had experienced great success in smartphone app development. Vine, which allowed users to upload and share videos no longer than 6 seconds, was especially popular with children and teens.
HQ Trivia gained impressive download numbers upon its release, offering a chance to win a portion of a collective jackpot that sometimes reaches thousands of dollars.
Kroll was found over the weekend after his girlfriend contacted the authorities, expressing concern over his well-being. Drug paraphernalia was discovered near the body, though police have not confirmed drug use as the cause of death.
