Running a show has its own set of rules that revolve around the audience, stage, and media. You will need to be aware of these rules so you can use them to your advantage when designing your show and marketing it!

As we discussed in our article about The Best Way to Pick Your Target Market, knowing who your target market is or at least what their weaknesses are can help you find an appropriate platform to showcase your product or service.

With this article, we will go over some basic tips and tricks for how to effectively market your show through different mediums. We will talk about blogs, social media, YouTube, advertisements, and more. All of these play important roles in developing your show’s presence online.

Think about the time and location of the event

When planning to attend an event, you should know what kind of event it is. If it’s a conference, then you should figure out when it takes place and where it’s being held.

If it’s a class, then you should find out the timing and day as well as whether there are any additional courses that can be joined.

If it’s a party, then you should find out the date and time and if anything special is happening at that time or if anyone is hosting one afterwards.

By knowing this information, you will have enough time to prepare properly.

Marketing strategies

A marketing strategy is usually a few steps that include a goal, a tactic, and a time frame. Yours comes down to one main thing: what are you going to do to get people to visit your website or call up your phone number?

It’s hard to know where to start when it comes to developing a successful marketing plan so here we will go through some basics. These basic tips can be done in any order depending on your budget and timing.

General Tips When Developing Your Business Plan

Keep it simple – Sometimes there is too much emphasis placed on creating a very elaborate business plan. What extra stress you put on yourself doesn’t need to have pretty pictures and lots of clever bullet points. Keep it short and straightforward and see how far you get!

Create a website

A show is like a piece of content that someone else created that you can add to your social media platform or business site. The difference is that instead of it being computer generated, this content was written by someone else but you can give it an audience and start working with them!

It’s great to have a well-written article online that people can access free, but creating your own took more than just writing the text and editing it.

You need to design the page, edit the photos, find a way to pay for hosting, create a Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram account, and implement marketing strategies for all of these services. All of this takes time and money!

But don’t worry, most of this work has been done before you. You can pick and choose what things you want to use and how to make it yours.

Your job as a marketer is to figure out which tools are going to be effective in helping your show grow and connect with others.

Buy advertising

A much more efficient way to market your show is by spending money to advertise it. There are several ways to do this, but the most common is through YouTube. By having your YouTube channel in the marketing section, you can begin creating advertisements and putting them into videos!

By doing this, people will be able to find your show via search or the channels of individuals that already have a large audience. Many times, people make their own channel with no content and then use it to advertise products or services! This is very expensive if you don’t know how to create an advertisement, so there are paid apps and sites that offer professional looking advertisements to put up onto your video.

There are also websites where you can advertisse your channel, which is probably my favorite method because I like the opportunity to showcase what I talk about on TV directly to someone who may want to watch me! The cost per person viewing your channel is lower too, since you aren’t paying an individual to promote your show, instead, they upload an advertorial piece (like a testimonial or article) related to your field that includes a link to your channel.

Distribute promotional materials

Another way to use social media to boost your fashion show exposure is to distribute promotional material such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, or bags that feature your logo or style. If you have a business website, you can add an “About” section or something with your name and phone number/email address so people can contact you that way.

You may also want to do some online shopping before the event to see if there are any products that match or inspire what you will be wearing. This could lead to new sales!

Running out of things to say? You can always create a second account on another platform and include the same information.

Choose your theme

Choosing your marketing theme will depend on what messages you want to convey and how you plan to communicate with your audience. If you are an entrepreneur who wants to increase his or her business, choosing an inspiring topic can start a conversation with your followers.

You may choose to talk about health and wellness, fashion, money management, or anything else that is relevant to your niche. For example, if your product or service is related to personal training, then talking about fitness is a good choice of marketing theme.

Your marketing message should be clear and concise. The tone should be casual and motivational. Try finding inspiration from different themes to see how they influenced others and be careful not to overdo it.

Avoid using too many numbers or complicated terms unless you are sure that your potential customers understand them.

Practice marketing strategies

Developing your communication skills is one of the most important things you can do to improve yourself as a person. You will find that once you learn how to communicate with people, it becomes much easier to connect with other people.

This goes beyond learning how to speak about personal topics –– like relationships or career goals — but thinking of ways to motivate others to keep talking.

You’ll also need to be able to listen to someone else’s point of view, which takes practice too.

Running into trouble in a conversation may be because you didn’t pay attention to what was being said, or you cut off when you should have listened.

Avoid engaging in conversations if you are not practiced in listening, and try to remember that there is an objective truth that doesn’t depend on who says it.

There is an underlying structure to every topic, and we all tend to agree more easily on these than we do on emotional ones. Use this opportunity to hone your reasoning skills.

Rehearse marketing strategies

After you have spent time creating your business, what next? Now that you have put in some effort to grow your brand, it is time to rehearse your market strategy.

You will want to make sure that everything is lined up before you launch into action! This includes having all of your supplies and equipment ready, as well as, finalizing your plan with yourself.

Once again, thinking through your plans and preparing ahead of time will help ensure that your business does not get stuck during the start-up process.

Also, be prepared to shift approaches and practices; this can mean reevaluating your budget or changing your target audience.
